Jardur Bezelmeter 960 Mark 3
The Jardue Bezelmeter is a pilots watch from the 1940’s with a unique red degreemeter scale on the dial represented by the spiral division marked in degrees for timing aviation turns. It’s a real toolwatch used mainly by American pilots in World War 2. It is one of those obscure brands that has fascinated me for some time. More information can be found at jardur.com. The reference 960 has a steel 38mm diameter waterproof case with pump pushers, unsigned crown and bi-directional countdown bezel with red triangle at 12. It has a manual wind Valjoux 71 movement correctly signed Pilgrim Electric Corp. The caseback has the same signature and has a serial number 32545 on the outside. The case is stamped 545 on the back of one of the lugs. The case retains its original brushed finish and is in remarkable condition considering its age. The print on the dial is bright and crisp and gloss black base has an even aged finish. The original lume is still present on the numerals and visible under UV light. The 6 hands are all original and have been carefully restored to match the age of the watch. It comes on a leather strap.
